THE K.A.G. RAIL:
- Improves the design and ergonomics of work zones
- Increases safety for work platforms
- Increases stability and support for workers
- Reduces injuries and risks of falls and slips
- Reduces muscle strains from hands slipping on rails
- Reduces exposure to hazards and increases the safety of the work site
- Improves health and safety.
- Improves the 'three points of contact' rule with handrails that don't slip.

REDUCE INDUSTRIAL INJURIES
- Labourers and tradespeople have the highest risk of injury in Australia
- 30 percent of industrial injuries are sprains and strains
- Approximately 1,000 construction and industrial workers are hospitalised each year with significant injuries caused from falls on work sites
(Sources: ABS 2006; 'Hospital separations due to injury and poisoning', Australia 2004–05, Clare Bradley and James Harrison) - The K.A.G Rail reduces handrail slippage by up to 80 percent in dry and up to 40% in wet and greasy conditions, and will improve your safety performance
The K.A.G. RAIL STORY
The K.A.G Rail is an Australian invention, created and patented by Klein Architectural in Brisbane. The company first recognised the need for a ‘non-slip’ rail when working with industrial marine clients. Workers were sliding backwards down ladders and having difficulty alighting platforms in conditions where the rail and the workers hands were wet and often greasy.
Through numerous trials and testing, the Klein Architectural team perfected a high-quality rail with permanent swages and ridges that fit the shape of a closed hand. The K.A.G Rail has been through university and industry testing and has passed with flying colours. It is now being launched and installed across industrial work sites to improve safety performance.

OTHER KEY FEATURES
In addition to safety. the K.A.G Rail features:
- A unique swage pattern that creates a stronger more durable handrail
- Greatly enhanced grip level over plain tube
- Services such as water, electrical, air / gas and data can be hidden in the tube
- Superior product for wet and greasy environments
SIZING AND STRENGTHS
- From 9.53mm up to and including 101.6mm diameter tube
- From 6mm NB pipe up to and including l00mm
- NB pipe from 9.53mm to 114.3mm
When installed correctly, the K.A.G Rail exceeds Newton's force by 110kg.
CAPACITY AND GEOGRAPHY
Klein Architectural has the capacity to produce 200m to 400m of the K.A.G Rail per day and can exceed this requirement with advance notice.
The K.A.G Rail can be installed by Klein Architectural in any location across Australia... And our fabrication partners globally
SPECIFICATIONS AND MATERIALS
Made to order and made to measure, specifications / versatility include:
- External crimping is mirrored on the inside of the radius
- Swage pattern can be started and stopped at any point along the grab rail - allows for standard Httings, tees, elbows, end caps and bends
- Use swage pattern where grip is required
- Materials can be processed in left or right-hand configurations
- Three different radii and three different helix angles to choose from
- LEDs can be fitted to illuminate area below the rail -increases stairwell safety
- Available in wide range of materials, sizes and wall thicknesses - stainless steel, aluminium, steel, brass and copper. More information is provided in the table below
